What the course is about
The number of medication errors reported every year in social care and health care settings is staggering. In some studies, up to 27% of people living in nursing homes, have been affected by medication errors.
As well as having a duty of care to the people supported in the home, avoidable medication errors can cause death.
In most cases, correct training combined with robust recording and reporting systems will significantly reduce errors and risks to residents.
This regulated and nationally recognised
qualification has been specifically designed for
those who want to work in, or are looking to
refresh their knowledge of the safe handling and
administration of medication within a health
and social care setting, such as support workers
or care workers.
The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Safe
Handling and Administration of Medication
(RQF) also provides successful candidates with
an understanding of current legislation and
guidance, different types of medication, the
storage and disposal of medication, and much
more over this one-day course.
The course is £100 + VAT.
